Keeping us on our toes!

Since our last post, Emma has changed in so many ways! She has become a non stop "conversationalist" (this foreign baby language mostly haha) and has gotten a few more words under her belt. Her facial expressions expand by the day. She never seizes to amuse us with a new one at any given moment! She's becoming more "picky" about her food. She still eats healthy foods but we are finding that at dinner time, it takes more coercion than before to get her to finish her meal. She is still a spit fire and always on the go. She just recently started to run in her own individual form; the difference between her walk and run is walking, arms are down by her sides, running, her arms are bent, hands near armpits (as if she were imitating a monkey), and with each step she takes her little elbows go back and forth, vigorously. I will try to get video and post it. She still has a no fear personality and has my heart dropping to my stomach a lot throughout the day in fear she is about to seriously hurt herself. And she has begun the imaginary play with her dolls, our three cats (which is simply amusing when she is putting jewelry and plastic leis on our cat Charlie, the most temperamental of the 3. He truly is a grouch. Reminds me of a kids movie where the baby softens the heart of the evil character. He's learning to sit and take it, with a most disgusted look on his face every time!), and of course, jibber jabber on the phone; always a good conversation too with much laughter ;) I could truly just sit on the couch and watch her for hours and be entertained. Though it's tough to not get down and play right along with her.

She is still interested in my growing belly; kissing her little sister and all. Now when we ask her where little sister is, she points to my belly. The other day we had company over, and almost as if she was trying to introduce her little sister she came over to me, pointed to my belly and looked at our friends who were visiting. I stood guard hoping she wouldn't pull my shirt up to kiss it (as she tends to do) in front of everyone! ;) But it was too darn cute!

Also, over the weekend, I was sitting on the floor with her playing with her "block shapes" and as I was teaching her to put the shapes in the right slots, and she had successfully done so, I look up to praise her and she is staring at me, almost dotingly, and I smile to which she proceeds to lean in and kiss me on my cheek! It was the most precious kiss I've ever gotten from her. Then later that night, as I was taking her upstairs to go to bed, we did our usual nightly "say good night to daddy and give him hugs and kisses". She leaned in, kissed him as usual, hugged him, then proceeded to kiss him on his cheek! His heart melted just as mine did.

Her words so far consist of;
Mama
Dad, dadda
Uh-oh (to really anything that falls on the floor and any time a cell phone rings-not sure why lol)
Ball (says this for balls and for balloons)
Bubble (she recently found her interest in bubbles and loves them)
Bird (she gets so excited when she sees birds in the trees or planes in the sky)
Bye Bye
Guys
(Get) Down (we are always telling the kitties to get down from counter/table tops and she's taken up her authority in doing the same)
Up
Thank you
This weekend she started signing "Please" (I can't get her to say it, so Grammie helped to teach her to sign it)
Whoa!
Wow
And other random words here and there. Still making all of her animal noises. And as I mentioned earlier, full on baby language conversations.

10 more weeks or less until little sister arrives and we are anxiously anticipating her arrival! SLOWLY getting prepped for her to come. I think knowing we have everything she needs already is leading us to postponing the complete preparations, but nonetheless they are getting done slowly but surely! She's pretty active in my belly so I am very curious to see her temperament when she finally comes. We will be taking maternity/family pictures on June 30th so once I have those, I will post pictures of this belly of mine.

For now, please enjoy recent pictures of our spunky Emma. We just love her soooo much! She brings so much joy to our days and our lives in so many ways!!

She does this look when we are feeding her (I of course do it back to her every time) Not sure what it means, but I think she is just being her goofy self!
